/method

  1. 01

    Load Serum fresh

Start from the default init patch. You're building this from zero so the routing is clean.

  2. 02

Set both oscillators to Analog BD wavetable

Same wavetable on A and B, position 14. Detune B by +12 cents to get the stereo width without phase issues.

  3. 03

    Add the sub

Sine wave on the sub oscillator, -12 dB. This anchors the low end without muddying the pad voicing.

  4. 04

    Unison + detune

4 voices, 18% detune. Keep it tight — this is a lead pad, not a supersaw. You want individual notes still audible.

  5. 05

    Env 1 → amp

Slow 1.2s attack, long 3s release. Pad envelope. Nothing fancy.

  6. 06

    LFO 1 → pitch (subtle)

0.25 Hz rate, 2 cent depth, random phase. Just enough to make the pad feel alive without sounding vibrato'd.

  7. 07

    FX: chorus 25%, hall 40%

Chorus first to widen, then hall reverb to send it into the cathedral. Keep it before any sidechain.
